The matter has been clouded by the adoption of inadequate and perhaps misleading nomenclature. “Egalitarian” is adopted by some, but opponents claim that they also hold to equality—although, it must be observed, many women feel that they are not considered equal as long as they are restricted from particular ministries. “Complementarian” has been adopted by others, but it can be argued that in the church and increasingly in society it is widely recognized that men and women do complement each other.
